OpenAI, the nonprofit research company that works on artificial intelligence, and has really taken off recently, has announced a paid subscription service for ChatGPT. Along with a brand new paid subscription model, the AI content tool is also adding a freemium model to go alongside the paid tier. If you want to subscribe, it’ll set you back $20 a month, and will give you better access to the tool.
What is ChatGPT:
ChatGPT is, in essence, a simple online artificial intelligence chatbot. The chatbot uses machine learning to create human sounding responses to text prompts, and was trained with a plethora of data, including books and articles to conversations.
OpenAI explains:
“The new subscription plan, ChatGPT Plus, will be available for $20/month, and subscribers will receive a number of benefits:
- General access to ChatGPT, even during peak times
- Faster response times
- Priority access to new features and improvements”
If you choose to stick to the freemium version of ChatGPT, you will likely deal with delays at peak usage times and/or outages depending on current circumstances.
Many marketers have realized how valuable ChatGPT can be, since ChatGPT can create custom text outputs based on very specific prompts. ChatGPT could potentially replace human content producers with ChatGPT outputs. This could maximize SEO performance at lower costs.
Although this sort of service does sound tempting, you always want to take it with a grain of salt. Although it can create some good material, there’s the possibility that the result of using ChatpGPT will result in misinformation, plagiarised content, and other output that would be considered incorrect.
Like Social Media Today said, “there are ways to use ChatGPT within any content process, and by using the right prompts, and understanding the limitations of such tools, they could well become essential elements in your approach.” In this case, you have to spend money if you want to get any of the benefits.
