There are three different forms of media coverage that are used by PR teams to connect with their target audience.

The three that we’re talking about include:

  • Owned Media
  • Paid Media
  • Earned Media

If you are starting off with a brand new HVAC brand, the first thing you want to do is make sure that it gets seen by all of the people you think will be into your business. In this case, you do want to focus on the first two types of media – owned and paid. They will help you punch through some of the competition and in front of others.

But, earned media is just as important as the first two types of media. The folks over at Social Media Today hosted a Twitter chat on the topic of “Tracking and Measuring Earned Media (on Social Media).”
