Google has been pushing the new Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for a while now, and its been urging website owners to upgrade their existing Universal Analytics code and to run GA4 code side by side. For those who didn’t know, the biggest reason for this upgrade to GA4 is because of cookies.
Google wants to measure all the things without having to put third-party cookies on your computer. Basically, it only plans on doing first party cookies.
GA4 seems to be a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to its users. I’ve heard a lot of people say they didn’t care much for how GA4 functioned, but in July of 2023, it will become the only version of Google Analytics you can use. This is the time when you want to learn as much as you can about how to use it.
