5 Things in SEO that Aren’t Important

As you know, SEO is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results. A higher ranking when somebody searches a term in your industry increases your brand’s visibility online. In turn, it gives you even more opportunities to convert possible prospects into actual clients.

One thing to think about these days though, is what in the broad spectrum of SEO is important, and what isn’t. In the following Ahrefs video, we will listen to an interesting topic – a handful of things that don’t matter in SEO. That doesn’t mean that these “things” aren’t exactly SEO myths, nor are they bad practices, but they’re things that a number of folks are obsessed about and worry over when they don’t REALLY matter when it comes to improving your Google rankings.

These things include:

  1. LSI Keywords
  2. Achieving a content score in a content optimization tool or getting a green light with Yoast’s WordPress plugin
  3. Word count
  4. Exact match domains
  5. Social signals
