YouTube Experiments With Automated Lists Of Products It Detects In Videos

A new feature is being tested by Google that is meant to detect products in video, and then displays both that item and related products as well. This came from the YouTube tests and experiments page on March 22.

According to the Google announcement, “We are experimenting with a new feature that displays a list of products detected in some videos, as well as related products.” The products will appear just below the video between the recommended videos.

Currently, this experiment is happened on Twitter’s iOS app. If you click a YouTube video found in a Twitter post, the YouTube app will open up for playback.

The experiment is available to iOS users in:

  • US
  • Canada
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Japan
